We recently headed over to the “bubble tea street” in SS15, Subang Jaya on 21 July 2019 for Hong Leong Bank’s Bubble Tea Frenzy which was held in celebration of going cashless in conjunction with the bank’s Digital Day 2019 “Bye-Bye Cash, No Cash, No Problem” campaign (you read about HLB’s Digital Day campaign here – https://timchew.net/2019/07/04/hong-leong-banks-digital-day-2019/).
Customers who either applied for a HLB Credit Card, registered for Hong Leong Connect (banking mobile app) or linked their HLB Debit Card/-i to WeChat Pay Wallet and followed HLB’s WeChat Official Account on Sunday, 21 July 2019 at HLB’s Bubble Tea Frenzy at SS15/4 Subang Jaya, received a RM10 bubble tea voucher bubble tea from Daboba, The Alley or PIN Tea courtesy of HLB.
The icing on the cake for this crazy promotion was that three lucky customers won themselves 365 Days of Bubble Tea when they applied for a HLB Credit Card, registered for Hong Leong Connect (banking mobile app) or linked their HLB Debit Card/-i to WeChat Pay Wallet during the event!

The participating outlets for the street party this year were Subang Jaya’s iconic SS15 outlets Daboba, The Alley, and Pin Tea. Also, on hand for redemption of other prizes was Malaysian chain Tealive and other participating partners. These brands are among the most loved and certainly among the most mentioned brands in must-drink-bubble-tea-experiences lists – making long wait times there quite common especially on weekends.
The Bubble Tea Frenzy and HLB’s campaign was centered on helping consumers better understand how easy and rewarding going cashless can be when done right.
